When checking Beeminder and thinking up of adding some new goal, I bumped into something called HabitRPG. Beeminder and HabitRGP had been connected to each other and now you could beemind your habitrpging.
HabitRPG is a gamified service to help you form habits, accomplish to-dos or keep a daily routine. You get exp, damage and can level ups, etc. As I'm a roleplayer, I naturally jumped at the chance to try this one out. And what a better way to test anything, than to make a Beeminder goal about it.
After a day of using HabitRPG, I was at a loss: this is exactly like Beeminder. Why would I want to use these both? This blog post was to be a discussion about the differences of Beeminder and HabitRPG and what different sort of functions they might serve, but then I noticed that Beeminder blog already had this one sorted out!
It could have been interesting to bump into the Beeminder blog only after writing my own, but I guess this is the more optimal order of things. Also, I guess I should finally subscribe to Beeminder's blog (they already wondered earlier why I hadn't). The content seems to be top-notch in general.
HabitRPG seems extremely promising, so I'm going to keep using it with Beeminder for now. I have some goals on both services and most on just one. Let's see if habitRPG can keep me interested on a more permanent basis.
