So far I've mostly been stocking up on punishments if I fail at Hacked Man. I'll be globally ridiculed in all major newspapers for failing to post enough blogs. If I fail Beeminder goals, they'll bill me for real money. My spouse will be sad because I didn't clean as much as I promised.
But what do I get if everything goes according to plan?
I've been on watch(!) for a nice wristwatch for a while. Looked around when happening to cross a store with watches on the display etc. Haven't found anything nice yet. I'm really picky, when it comes to fashion. Then I saw this posted on a Quantified Self community:
Withings Activité is a new tracker-watch-thingy that'll be hitting the market this Fall. It seems to track everything I want a tracker to track (steps, distances, calories, sleep) and looks bloody amazing.
So, if Hacked Man goes all around nicely, I'll get myself one of these for Christmas. (Assuming it doesn't bomb completely in reviews or something.)
They always tell me that retrospectives, dead dog parties and closures are important. I've always liked the actual doing much more than crossing the finishing line. Still, any excuse to buy myself a new gadget!
